Generali Sport Arena, Unterhaching - Generali Haching were able to get their third win in a row in the German Volleyball Bundesliga, as they beat Moerser SC 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-12).
Haching's victory was never in question. The match only took 1 hour and 10 minutes.
It was simply a perfect performance which pleased Haching head coach Mihai Paduretu. He also had the possibility to play some of the younger stars like Simon Hirsch and Tom Strohbach.
Christian Dünnes was once again the top scorer, this time with 14 points, and Denis Kaliberda added 12 points. MVP of the match was libero Sebastian Prüsener.
"We were very focused on the field," said Prüsener. "Moerser had some players missing, and then to play a highly focused team, it was even tough for them."
Paduretu could not agree more. "These are two important points for us. All the players took part to this victory, the younger ones as well. We played in a very focused way. When we are so focused it is hard for every opponent to face us.
"Now we have to play the same way in the next game," stated Paduretu. "After that we will be able to focus on the big Champions League game against Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo."
Haching will travel to play evivo Düren on Saturday. Düren won easily 3-0 on the road against CV Mitteldeutschland and can be a difficult opponent for Haching. The match on Saturday will pit the top two teams in the league.
The Bavarians return home to host Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo on Wednesday night. First serve at 20:00 CET.

Berlin - Generali Haching needed a win Saturday night in the Volleyball Bundesliga Playoffs to keep their goals of a league title alive. The #2 seed lost a shocker at home earlier in the week to #3 SCC Berlin and a win would bring the best of three-series back home. But their dreams were swept away 3-0 (18-25, 22-25, 13-25) by Berlin.
Denis Kaliberda, Robert Hupka and Leo dos Santos were in the starting lineup but Haching played behind from the start. Down 8-4 at the first technical timeout, Haching tried to stay close with a run of good serves by Tomas Kmet but it was...
