Munich hosted its most exciting horse racing event of the year with the prestigious Dallmayr meeting at the weekend.
The big race of the day was won by Pastorius, who followed up his surprise win in the German Derby with a dominant display to take the honours by eight lengths. The valuable Group One race was sponsored to the tune of 155,000 Euro.
Top jockey Andrasch Starke's mount coasted home in a strong field which included last year's German Derby winner Waldpark and Group One winners Durban Thunder and Zazou.
Despite dropping back in distance, Pastorious, who went off at odds of 3-1, galloped home relentlessly, easily seeing off the challenge of the Martin Harley-ridden Durban Thunder with favourite Zazou back in third.
12,000 punters braved the inclement weather to enjoy a great day's racing in Riem.
