Munich. A plane about to depart from Munich to Tokyo had to return to the terminal when 80 out of the 300 passengers suffered from severe food poisoning. The cause is not yet known, but it is suspected that the food poisoning occurred among a group of Japanese people travelling together and most likely originated an at eating establishment they all visited prior to the flight.
According to initial findings, the affected passengers were suffering from acute gastroduodenal disorders. People with severe symptoms were treated at various hospitals in the area; all other ill passengers were dealt with on-site in a separate dedicated hall. Several aid agencies and local fire departments are at the scene.
