Olympia Eissportzentrum, January 8th - EHC Munich coming off of two road losses, had high hopes on winning their first home game of the year against Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg. Munich would not be able to use the home ice advantage and lost tonight 4-2.
"in the critical moments of the game they were better than we were," said EHC head coach Pat Cortina.
Christoph Höhenleitner was responsible for Wolfsburg's first goal of the game and Patrick Davis scored twice for Grizzly Adams. John Laliberte scored the an empty-netter from center ice with one second left to complete the scoring.
Jan Benda and Jason Ulmer both scored for Munich but overall the team had eight power plays and did not convert them.
"Power plays are usually a little bit of a reflection of the rest of your game and when you are on it it works," said Cortina regarding tonight's outcome.
EHC are back in action on Friday as they play in Cologne against the Sharks. Munich return home on January 15th when they host the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers from Nuremberg, face-off at the Eissportzentrum is 16:30 CET.
